MaKenna Stoakes is an associate at Smith Peterson Law Firm, LLP, where she primarily practices civil litigation. She practices law in the state courts of Iowa and Nebraska and the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska. Personal Hobbies and InterestsI enjoy most any outdoor activity, especially hiking. During the fall, I am a devoted Husker football fan.
Why did you choose the profession of lawyer?Being a lawyer means that I have the opportunity to tell my clients' stories while helping them solve their legal issues. I also appreciate that each case provides some new topic to learn.
How are you involved in the community?I am active in the Council Bluffs Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, I enjoy volunteering with organizations that help kids. I have volunteered with organizations such as Optimists International, Law Explorers, the Judge Lyle Strom High School Mock Trial Program, and the Iowa Middle School Mock Trial Program.
